If there’s one thing that I wish I possessed, it’s creativity. And once I saw Brittany’s blog, I realized that this gal’s got it! Not only does it show through her “Work from home” job as a party planner, but also with how she juggles her excitement that is her life! And Brittany, if you ever need someone as a cupcake taste tester, I’d be more than happy to help! Thank you for sharing how you make it work!
Your name and hometown:
I’m Brittany Egbert and I grew up in Sandy, Utah.
Blog(s) / Website (s):

How many kids?:
I have 4 kiddos. One boy and three girls. 11, 9, 7 & 4. I love that they each have their own personalities. They make our little family complete.
Besides being a mother, what else consumes your time?:
Planning parties. I’m always working on the next party. And the one after that. That means I’m testing out party ideas and activities (usually with my kids), brainstorming cakes and cupcakes, shopping for photo props (also with my kids), looking through endless party photos, and emailing or talking on the phone with the wonderful people I work with. For fun I like to hang out with my husband and kids. And my sisters. I also dream of remodeling our house one day.
What is the biggest challenge you’re faced with right now?
Growing a business but not becoming obsessed with it. For me, starting a new business requires a lot of time and sometimes it seems like more fun to do business stuff than to cook and clean. I’m still working on that.
With so much demanded of you, how do you “Make it Work”?
Since I work from home I have to try really hard to keep my house running smoothly. Some days are better than others, but to keep my sanity I have: a laundry schedule, an ironing service that picks up and delivers weekly, a regular meal plan, a monthly budget meeting with my husband, and cleaners that come and keep my floors and bathrooms clean. I have a date night with my husband each week and all of my children are signed up for one extra curricular activity that they picked. I drive them to these activities and we get to spend one on one time together in the car chatting about life and such.
If you had a full day to yourself, free of daily responsibilities, what would you spend it doing? Where?
Really? Can I even dream of that? I would love to sleep in and have breakfast in bed. Then spend the day at the spa getting my toes painted and being pampered. After that I’d love to go out to dinner with my husband and stay at a fancy hotel with him for the night.

What would be your advice to other mothers trying to “Make It Work”?
Make sure your husband and kids know how much you love them. Life is short and really, nothing else is more important than the people you care about. Not even a party

I love Brittany and wish I had more opportunities to hang out with her. She is really talented at what she does. I love her idea of an ironing service–my husband now takes his shirts to a dry cleaners and the way to work because he knows I’ll never get around to it! And a date night is a must! Great feature, Camille!

Who doesn’t love a party that includes Brittany?? No one! She is so fabulous and I love all her ideas and creativity. She is even more wonderful and genuine in person than on her blog. Hard to image!

I really like her scheduling. I need to do more of that. Things would run much more smoothly if I did. I also need house cleaners. =)
