Happy 2010 * Telling Stories * Cherish Bound Giveaway

Every night before bedtime, my 5 year old says, “Mom, tell us a story of when you were a little girl”.

Now, you’d think with as many years as I’ve been on this earth, I’d have enough stories to keep them happy every night.  However, we’re now getting to the point where she says with disappointment, “you’ve told that one already”.

I just don’t remember that far back!  And honestly, a lot of the stories I’m sharing with them are the ones my mom has shared with me.   I wish I would have documented my “life” a little better as I grew up.

How are you recording the memories of your little ones?  Or of yourself?

I was introduced to Cherish Bound last summer, a company that helps you write your story, and even offers an option to publish it in a book!

Carol Rice, the President and CEO of the company, is offering Story Starters to 5 of my readers!

These are booklets filled with questions to help you explore every nook and cranny of your story you want to create.  And there are over 50 options!

If you would like to win one of these Story Starters, leave me a comment telling me which one would appeal to you the most!

Extra entries for updating your Facebook, Twitter or Blog about the giveaway (leave a comment for each).

And if you need to be inspired to help tell your story, or just to enjoy good storytelling, the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival is going on February 3-6,2010 in Utah Country.  I went last summer and was very entertained!  It would be a fun date night or family night!  And you could enter to win tickets at Sassy Scoops!

Giveaway ends February 1st midnight, at which point 5 winners will be chosen at random.

I would love to win the Legacy Story Starter. I have been substituting my blog as a family photo album and need to do a better job of telling stories with words and not just pictures.

These look great. They sound like the book my Grandpa filled in and gave me a few years before he passed away. I love it and I’d love to have more people in my family do it too. I’d start with the I Remember When… book in the Legacy collection. But I’d like some for my children to start their stories too. So many good ones.

That looks very darling. Stories???? Not sure I have any. Should have done a better job of it when my kids were still at home.

Hmmm, maybe the legacy or family collections? My blog is working as our current journal but there are many moons from before the blog that need catching up!

Pick me! Pick me! Who doesn’t need to catch up on their geneology…it’s stuff I wish I would have started before!

Too bad you can’t remember your childhood. I bet your mom makes up most of the stories you’ve been told!
We (RS Presidency) were talking about how to get the women in our ward to have a desire to record their story. What a great idea this is!
